Security

The platform in which SAFE is housed has been IRAP Assessed at PROTECTED Level (meaning it has undergone a security assessment by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and is deemed to meet the security requirements outlined in the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) for the "PROTECTED" classification level).

All incident data residing in SAFE is fully encrypted. Only authenticated users can access the data.

TCPS (Secure TCP) database connection services use the industry-standard TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security) protocol for connections. All data in transit is encrypted.

SAFE enforces that user passwords are a minimum of 10 characters which contain at least one lowercase alphabetic character, one uppercase alphabetic character, one numeric digit, and one punctuation character.

SAFE PLATFORM

The SAFE platforms provides two methods to raise a concern.

  1. SAFE provide a public facing form (via a link) that assosication can place of their child safety page. The CSO has access to this unique URL once they login to SAFE
  2. The CSO once logged into the portal has the option to raise a CSO. This would be required if the CSO was advise of a CSO and is required to raise it on behalf od an individual for example

Once a concern is raised the CSO of the association has 48 hours to perform an 'Initial Review & Acknowledgment'. This can be done by Email, In-Person or Phone Call. Once complete the CSO is to flag the Status 'Complete'.

If the CSO fails to acknowledge the concern after 72 hours the Level 2 of the Club ( typically the President) will receive an Escalation Level 1 reminder email. They are able to see any details of the concern.

In the event that the concern raise is considered serious and if the League has setup the SAFE program the league will receive a notification of the concern. They are unable to see any details of the concern.
